2013

Summary of our adventures

It was a hectic year for travel with some serious travelling in all directions.  Every trip had very different purposes!  Full reviews are on my website and can be found HERE but here is a brief rundown of what we got up to, some nice picture mosaics are on individual pages, enjoy!

February 2013 – Stayed for 4 nights in a hotel in Times Square, my daughters first long haul holiday.  Walked lots, ate lots of food, got very cold and saw everything we had earmarked for seeing – Empire State, Rockerfeller, Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Terminal, Public Library, USS Intrepid and of course, Central Park.  Experienced my first ever batch of pancake and syrup, husband got a cold and daughter smashed her Ipad to pieces.  Eventful all round!

April 2013 – Our 2nd trip to the amazing island of Reethi beach in the Maldives.  It was also our honeymoon so we had a few days in a standard beach villa and a few days in a water villa.  Did lots of snorkeling, including my first attempt at night snorkeling and two dolphin trips by speedboat, seeing a super pod of well over 100 dolphins on the first attempt.  We also did a special day trip to Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru to build our own artificial reef.  The structure has been tagged with our names and will be tended by staff, pictures will be taken every 6 months and uploaded onto the internet for us to see its progress.

June 2013 – Our final trip of the year to Marsa Alam in Egypt.  We were lucky to get a very reasonably priced upgrade to a suite which was fab.  After having a horrific year of diving in 2012 I was dead chuffed to complete 9 dives, including 5 to complete my PADI advanced open water certification.  It was just a little bit hot!
